Prerequisites
Weight limit - riders will be mounted on a pony which is suitable for their ability, level of confidence, height, and weight. We have a *weight limit which considers the weight carrying ability ponies that we have here at Offchurch Bury Polo Club.
The price of your lesson/experience includes the following equipment:
• Pony
• Sticks
• Whips
What should I wear when playing polo
General clothing
We recommend a long-sleeved polo shirt, a jacket that is fastened so that it doesn’t flap, or a sweatshirt.
Jodhpurs are trousers specially designed for riding; however, a pair of comfortable trousers without a seam on the inside leg (seams can rub the inside of your leg when riding) will be suitable for anyone when learning to play or if on a one off polo experience.
Head protection Please provide your own head protection that is up to current UK safety standard.
Footwear
The right footwear is essential for your safety when riding or handling a pony. Our instructors will be able to advise you on safe footwear, however smooth soled boots with a solid heel and free of any buckles etc. are advised. NO high heals or trainers.
