The American Quarter Horse, or Quarter Horse, is an American breed of horse that excels at sprinting short distances. Its name is derived from its ability to outrun other horse breeds in races of a quarter mile or less. With a sturdy build, many positive attributes, including its gentle nature, versatility, beauty, speed, agility, and loyalty. Quarter horses are suitable for all levels of riders and owners, as they tend to be friendly with people and easy to train. They’ve been used as race horses, as well as working ranch horses.
This is the ideal place for those who want to experience the dramatic scenery of Wyoming, with the assurance of great horses and excellent hospitality. The Lake Guest Ranch has retained the true essence of the west and aims to offer an authentic, personal western experience to their guests.
The ranch has about 100 horses of which 35-40 are saddle horses between 3 and 15 years old. There is something for every rider from beginner to advanced including children. Most are Quarters with a few Paints and Mustangs all with great cow-sense. The ranch has an exceptional Registered Quarter Horses breeding program, of which they are very proud of !! Most of their horses are raised and trained by the ranch’s cowboys, who know and trust them entirely. From April to October begins the training of the 2/3 years old that will become the ranch’s new saddle horses the ranch. Beauty, Power, Great Minds: such are Lake Ranch’s horses.

The airport of arrival is Rapid City in South Dakota (which is about 125 miles from the Ranch). Our weekly fee includes transportation to/from the airport on Wednesdays and Saturdays; for other days there will be an extra charge of $150 per person. Our transport is provided only from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. For different times the airport provides a shuttle service for a cost of about $ 220 or a car rental.
