This full service Equestrian Center offers its guests excellent professional riding instruction as well as trail riding and multi day treks. From a short two hour ride through the woods to multi-day excursions, they have it all. Swimming with the horses and dreamy gallops on the beach are also on the menu! At the Center, beginners can take their first riding lessons, intermediates can learn to jump and go on trail rides, and more advanced riders can improve their jumping or dressage technique since this is also a serious show barn whose team regularly places in regional and even national French competitions.
Situated between Bordeaux and the Spanish border, this part of France seems to have it all: mythical pine forests, beautiful beaches and surfing hot spots, world famous gastronomy and a vast array of Châteaux as well as a whole array of other cultural assets. This is a top destination for non riders as well!
At Centre Equestre Marina, trail riding has many facets: you will be able to take a tranquil 2 hour long ride through the pine forest, a half-day ride to the ocean or a trip to a lake where you can swim with the horses. On the other end of the spectrum, serious and seriously fit endurance riders will find an exceptional experience: a ride covering 40 to 65 daily kilometers through historical Châteaux and wine country in Périgord and Sauternes. Incredible food, wine tastings, culture and long gallops to work it all off, how much better can it get?
It’s well known that teenagers have more fun among themselves. Good riders, 12 to 18 years old, have several options at Mimizan: intensive weeks of riding instruction in dressage and show jumping, trekking and excursions weeks, and a mixed formula with the best of both worlds. Weeks with English language instruction are also available. The teens are housed in a dormitory setting and there is a pool on the premises. Campers will be supervised by professionals holding French Government diplomas in equestrian education.
The Centre Equestre Marina counts with 30 beautiful, well trained and responsive Anglo-Norman horses as well as 5 ponies. Most have been born and trained on the property and some have reached very high levels in competition. They are familiar with their surroundings, responsive, brave and dependable in the ring as well as on the trails.
