In the beautiful and unique Big Game Parks, Chubeka Trails offers a great way to discover the wildlife conservation of Swaziland. Big Game Parks began as the only initiative in its area to preserve the wonderful wildlife that is native to Eswatini. It is a self sustaining organization that works hard to provide the best shelter for the native species of the land in their natural habitats and work for those that are passionate about the animals that are protected! The opportunity to explore this paradise on horseback is not one you want to miss out on!
Eswatini is one of the only remaining absolute monarchies of Africa. Located in the south of the continent, the country is mainly known for its sugar exports and is home to lions, hippos, leopards and elephants! You do not want to miss out on this amazing opportunity to see these beautiful creatures first hand.
During your stay you will have the privilege to ride the wonderful Arabian, Thoroughbred and Warmblood horses that are stabled at Chubeka Trails! Along with those breeds, they also offer the opportunity to ride Percheron, Clydesdale, Friesian, Shire and Lusitano crosses that make up this team of 50 horses! All are equipped with rope halters and snaffles that are perfect for long trails. Chubeka Trails is proud to use Leon Liversage Enduro saddles that sport a small bag for water and saddlebags for food and personal items. On multi-day treks, your luggage will be transported to each camp by back up vehicles.
Chubeka Trails offers a variety of day and overnight rides! Whether you are looking for a place to stay with your family and want your children to experience a pony ride or would like to go on a ten day adventure, this is the right place for you! The day rides range from hourly rides to longer trails that will take you through the beautiful wilderness of the reserve. For the overnight rides you can choose from a 1 night cave trail that will take you through amazing views, 2 or 3 night mountain trails and even an amazing 10 day ride through Swaziland that includes a safari and much more! There is absolutely something for everyone here, you will not want to miss out on this opportunity!
During rides you will camp in various locations in Fly Camps with bedding provided and bow tents! You will have hot water to bathe and use. If you choose to stay on the Milwane Rest Camp you have the option to stay in a self catered accommodation with Sondzela Backpackers, or in the luxurious Reilly's Rock Hilltop Lodge.
