AMT Equestrian is run by Andrew and Maike Turnbull. Andrew is a unique horseman and individual. He might look like a ‘cowboy’ but Andrew is far from traditional. Andrew works with an open heart, seeking that ultimate connection and feel between horse and human that lies beyond words. Andrew has a real passion for teaching and helping people. Maike is a veterinarian and lawyer passionate about animal health and welfare. Driven by her desire to connect with and understand horses on a deeper level, Maike has combined her scientific and academic training with exploring consciousness and holistic healing philosophies based in ancient traditions and modern quantum physics.
Combining the art of horsemanship as pioneered by Tom Dorrance with modern science focusing on biomechanics and classical dressage taught by the 'old masters', as well as the influence of traditional California Vaquero Horsemanship. AMT Equestrian offers private, shared and group lessons, whether you want to work on your groundwork skills, work through problems you are having with your horse or advance your riding to a higher level. AMT Equestrian can help in every aspect of horsemanship.
Located in the rolling hills of Gidgegannup, 40km northeast of Perth, Western Australia, the facilities are perfect for holding clinics. AMT Equestrian has a huge 40 x 80m fully fenced, floodlit arena, 'Betty" the mechanical cow and and paddocks to encourage young horses to canter with plenty of space. Also on the property is a 20 meter round yard with a viewing platform, plenty of yards to safely house guest horses overnight, and room to camp where clinics are held over multiple days.

46 Lillie Rd, Gidgegannup WA 6083, Australia. Travel along Toodyay Road and turn into Preedy Road (if you are coming from Roe Highway travel up Toodyay road and travel through Gidgegannup, about 5km after the Gidge townsite turn LEFT into Preedy road). At the end of Preedy Road turn LEFT on to Old Coach Road East. Follow this road around a ninety degree bend to the right where it turns into Tilden Drive. Follow Tilden Drive all the way to the end and then turn RIGHT into Lillie Road. Follow Lillie road for 500m and you will see our driveway on your Left at the junction of Lillie Road and Falls Heights. Follow the driveway into the property and wait to be directed for parking.
